Canyon House by Grunsfeld Shafer Architects

Located in a mountainous scenery south of Salt Lake City, on the inclined hill of Little Cottonwood Canyon, the house you see above is an amazing example of what imagination can do to shapes. Work of Grunsfeld Shafer Architects, the Canyon House consists of three components, the Pavilion, a Parterre, and a Box. It blends really well with the scenery with all its exposed steel, concrete, native rock, cedar, and glass mosaic tiles, making it an amazing place. Pretty amazing and a real solution for those hot summer days we’ve been dealing with, last year.

Parrot Wireless Speaker Zikmu Designed By Philippe Starck Costs $1,500

The new Parrot wireless speakers were finally unveiled yesterday after an impatient wait by gadget geeks. Designed by Phiippe Starck, Zikmu is a wireless speaker that features a dock for iPods and iPhones.

The speakers connect via Bluetooth and are capable of 360 degree surround sound. Standing at 2.5 feet, the speakers are ideal for listening to music while lounging comfortably. Designer Starck claims that the 3D feel of the vibration caused by the speakers will be palpable to the user giving it a humanlike presence. Even if this is a bizarre exaggerartion, the speakers are certainly uber cool in design.

Available from the spring of 2009, the Zikmu wireless speakers will cost you $1,500, inclusive of a remote control. The speakers will also recharge the iPod/iPhone but the price still seems grossly expensive.

It is not only a compact space-saving and elegant design but it also lets you integrate the unit anywhere in the bathroom – with the pipes running underneath. What’s more, you can locate the Panay anywhere else in the house like a guestroom but the living room isn’t recommended unless you have exhibitionist tendencies!!
